WHY JOIN THE DAR?
The DAR gives members an opportunity for service in many areas. DAR membership is a way to join with other members in trying to make America a better place in which to live. It offers an opportunity to work with the youth of this great country through the educational programs offered by the NSDAR. DAR membership offers encouragement to become active in the community, to assist in historic preservation, to help preserve important documents and records of the past. It offers an opportunity to meet new people with similar interests, develop friendships, and to join with others who cherish the priceless heritage enjoyed by all while promoting the ideals of patriotism and love of country. In addition, DAR membership offers an incentive to become involved in conservation of our natural resources and to make a difference by doing so.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove direct lineage descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. Tracing your lineage is valuable because it preserves your family heritage. DAR volunteers are willing to provide guidance and assistance with your first step into the world of genealogy.
